Client: Clydebank Shopping Centre
A wheelie positive outcome
Clydebank Shopping Centre is a major retail and leisure destination located just eight miles from Glasgow’s city centre. It hosts over 100 retailers including many high street names including Primark, Dorothy Perkins and New Look as well as a ten screen Empire Cinema and welcomes 140,000 customers through its doors every week.
When the centre took delivery of one of the world’s most unusual modes of transport we set to work in using it as catalyst to raise awareness of the centre itself and in turn its investment in improving even further its customer service.
The Segway, a highly-efficient, zero-emission two wheeled vehicle, was initially trialled by the centre’s security staff to assess its impact through the half mile long shopping mall. Used by many theme parks around the world and by the police at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing this new piece of equipment had the makings of a great story.
Using the visual element of the Segway to attract prominent positions in broadcast and print media the campaign highlighted the size and scale of the development as well as reinforcing its commitment to customer care and security throughout.
