Client: Legion Scotland
Being the guardians of remembrance, Legion Scotland plays a central role in the remembrance period every year.
The culmination of almost two weeks of nationwide recognition of those who have fallen in military conflict during and since the First World War is the Remembrance Sunday event at the Stone of Remembrance on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile.
In attendance are military chiefs, emergency services and Regimental Associations from across Scotland as well as senior representatives of local and national Government, including First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, and hundreds of members of the public.
Media interest is high and requires a lot of management before and on the day. Working closely with the operations team at Legion Scotland, and directly with a long list of media outlets, we ensured the effective delivery of the media’s demands while respecting the importance of the purpose for the event.
Pre-event briefings, bid management, liaison with national and local government media managers and identification of preferred media positions resulted in wide ranging and respectful coverage of this important date.
